Privacy
Short version: the SHAPES app and this website don't track you, show no ads and collect nothing in the background. What you make in SHAPES stays on your phone. We only get your information when you give it to us (your email for the beta list, or a message you send us), we use it only for that, and we never sell or share it.
Who we are
This website, domodanko.com, is run by Domo Danko LLC, a company in California, which makes the SHAPES and SHAPES CTRL apps under the name DOMO DANKO AUDIO. Questions about privacy: hello@domodanko.com.
This page covers this website and the SHAPES app (including its TestFlight beta). When another of our apps comes out, its part will be added here.
The SHAPES app
- No account, no tracking, no ads. SHAPES doesn't ask who you are, has no analytics or advertising tools inside, and doesn't send anything about you or your music to us or anyone else. We can't see what you make.
- The microphone. SHAPES asks for the microphone only so you can record your voice on VOICE tracks. It listens only while you record, and the recordings are saved on your phone, inside your projects. They're never uploaded. You can say no, or turn it off later in the iPhone's Settings → SHAPES; everything else keeps working.
- Your projects and sounds. Projects, recordings, imported sounds and packs, and your settings are stored on your phone. Like any app's files, they can be part of your own iPhone backups (iCloud or your computer), which Apple handles under your Apple account.
- Files and pictures you choose. When you import sounds, pick a picture for SCOPES, or export and share a song or video, iOS shows its own Files, Photos and Share screens. SHAPES only gets the items you pick, and a shared file goes only where you send it.
- TestFlight. If you test a beta through Apple's TestFlight app, Apple may share crash reports, basic device information and any feedback you choose to send with us, under Apple's own privacy policy. We use them only to fix SHAPES.
The website
- The beta list (when it opens). If you join, we keep your email address so we can send you the TestFlight invite and news about the beta. Our email service is Kit (kit.com), which stores the list for us. Every email has a link to leave the list, and you can ask us to delete your address at any time.
- The artist contact form (when it opens). If you write to us, we receive your name, email and message so we can answer. The form is delivered by Web3Forms (web3forms.com), which passes it on to our inbox. We keep it only as long as we're talking about working together.
- Visiting the site. The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web server, it has to see your device's internet address (IP address) to send you the pages, and it uses it to keep the site safe from attacks. We don't use it to find out who you are, and we don't run analytics or ad trackers.
- Your theme. If you pick a theme, your browser remembers it on your own device (browser storage). It never leaves your device and we can't see it. Fonts and sounds come from this website itself, not from other companies.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or share your personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.
- We don't build profiles or follow you across other websites.
- Because we don't track you, "Do Not Track" and Global Privacy Control signals change nothing: you get the same no-tracking site either way.
Your rights
You can ask us what information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@domodanko.com and we'll answer within 30 days. California residents have these rights under California law (including the CCPA), and we give them to everyone. We'll never treat you differently for using them.
Children
SHAPES collects no personal information from anyone, children included. The beta list and the artist form are not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us their email, tell us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If a change matters to people on the beta list, we'll tell them by email first.
